Apples and Ancient Rome

Hello! Some pictures for you all, achieved at great cost because my computer was extremely reluctant to cooperate with me.

First we have the Coliseum snow sculpture on the Green -- which was in fact green at the time. They had to truck snow in to make and as you can see, it was already beginning to melt when I took the pictures.

Next, we have a lovely picture of an apple. We had one day last week that was so warm I decided to eat lunch outside. It was quite nice.

Then we have a picture of the sky -- hopefully the blue will transfer. This was right after I ate lunch -- it was a gorgeous, gorgeous day.

And finally a picture of me...it came out really dark so I edited it on the computer, which is why it's kind of fuzzy and oddly colored -- I just thought that every so often you guys might want to make sure I haven't dyed my hair green or gained 30 pounds or gotten a nose ring. : )

Happy March!

Halfway through term already?

It's hard to believe that I'm already halfway through this term and less than a month from my birthday... crazy!

So remember how last term I wrote a short play and it got performed in the Dartmouth Ten Minute Play Festival? Well, I did that this term too -- my second play will be performed on Tuesday. I remember when mom told me that she had written her 8th grade school play I felt like I was behind the curve, but I guess I'm making up the deficit one mini-play at a time... : )

I've been pretty tired lately because my tutoring job is in the morning on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so I have to get up at about 7:30 three times a week (gasp, the horror!). Today, however, I slept in until 11 and felt much better.

For those of you who may not know, I declared my major last week: Anthropology Modified (with Education). That's one weight off my shoulders, at least! I also finished my applications to study abroad next year -- I find out in early March whether or not I got into the programs I applied for.

Well, I have to go get lunch before they close up the dining halls, and then work on some homework... Have a great weekend!

A Very Nice Friday Indeed : )

Hi all!

Baba and Dido, thanks again for the amazing package...it's amazing how fresh and delicious schnitzel tastes even after it's been mailed...

Today a friend and I hiked up a hill (I was fortified by my schnitzel sandwich) and made snow angels -- it was a very fun way to spend a Friday. All the things that Dad always tells me to do more of: exercise, adventure, snow art... unfortunately this weekend I have a lot of work to do and, of course, I'm already behind on my plans to get it done... nevertheless, I will prevail. : )

I wanted to just put up a few more pictures from Christmas that I thought you guys might like. I have more but they won't all fit so I just chose two.

Some Pictures from Christmas

Hello! Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve -- I can't believe it was only two weeks ago! And in between we went back to MI, had New Year's came back to school, had a week of classes...woah!

Pre-Thanksgiving!

Well, it was very sad to miss the turkey dinner Baba always makes before Thanksgiving this year. But I was able to make up for it a little bit...my friends and I (mostly my friend Blakeley) cooked dinner tonight. We had turkey cutlets, stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce, green beans, and roasted vegetables. Also, I made pumpkin pie. It was really nice to have home-cooked food...but it made me miss home!

Also, I was sick last weekend but I'm pretty much over it now, except that I still have a cough. I guess that was unavoidable.

I look forward to seeing everyone in less than two weeks!

Homecoming!

Well, I had a great weekend. First off, my friend Adrienne visited me from Boston, which was a ton of fun. Second, it was Homecoming weekend, and Dartmouth won, breaking an 18-game losing streak. Third, I went to Molly's restaurant for dinner on Saturday, and they have the most delicious bread ever. So overall, it was a really good time : )

My play!

As I mentioned, I wrote a short play that was chosen to be in a play festival that took place last night. (Above is a [bad] picture of the program. Mine is the third one.) It was pretty cool to see people performing lines that I had written... plus, Chris and several of my friends came out to see it which I thought was nice.

Anyway, sorry I haven't put anything up in so long! I'm going to try and get more up in the coming weeks.
