Feel free to ask me. I'm an expert. I know that elm trees have probably been plaguing you all for weeks now. You've been sitting there thinking, "I have so many questions about elm trees! I wish I knew someone who had done 6 hours of research on elm trees and could therefore answer my questions!"
Well, your time has come. You can officially reclaim your peace of mind now. : )

Yes, i do have a question about Elm Trees.....are they all gone? Can we buy one and plant it and expect it to grow? Were they totally decimated in the US? Is Dutch Elm disease still around? Help me with the answere to these important questions.
Elm trees are only mostly gone, although they were quite decimated. Dutch Elm Disease is still a major problem, but scientists have bred highly disease-resistant forms of elms, many of which grow on the Dartmouth campus. I don't know if you could buy one unless you were willing to go on the - gasp! - black market because I think they only sell them to people who are going to spend lots of time and money to take care of them. : /
Also, thank you for being brave enough to ask these important questions. Only by understanding elm trees can we understand ourselves and, ultimately, our role in the universe...
